My girlfriends birthday is in December, and blue topaz is the December birthstone. I did not use this as an engagement ring. It is a very fine looking ring; the stone which shines brightly is I think about the right size for a woman's slender finger. The ring and setting for the stone are also very nice and allow the stone to be the highlight one first sees when looking at the ring.
